What makes National Outstanding Miss™ different?

Who can compete?
NOM currently offers three age divisions:

Teen: Ages 13–19
Miss: Ages 20–39
Timeless: Ages 40+

Additional divisions may be added in future program years.
Do I need previous pageant experience?
No. Previous pageant experience is not required.
What are the areas of competition?
40% PHILANTHROPY
30% INTERVIEW
30% CATWALK
There are no additional optional competitions required to earn the National title.
How do appointed titles work?
For the inaugural 2027 program year, Delegates may receive approved appointed titles based on their hometown or another approved geographic designation. All appointed titles have equal competitive standing and advance directly to the National Competition.
Do I have to compete at a state pageant first?
No. There are no state competitions for the 2027 program year. Appointed Delegates advance directly to Nationals.
When and where is the National Competition?
The inaugural National Outstanding Miss™ National Event will be held June 11–13, 2027 at The Castle Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The event is live and in person.
What is the National Fee?
The National Fee is $695. A $25 application fee is applied toward the National Fee upon acceptance.
What are the philanthropy requirements?
Delegates must complete a minimum of 24 verifiable service hours between May 2026 and May 2027, with required documentation due May 30, 2027.

Twenty-four hours establishes eligibility; it does not determine the philanthropy score. Philanthropy is not an hours contest.
Do I have to support food insecurity as my cause?
No. Crown to Community, Inc. has an organizational focus on food insecurity, but NOM Delegates may serve any meaningful cause that matters to them.
Do I need my own platform, nonprofit, or service project?
No. Delegates do not need to create a nonprofit, found an organization, or establish a personal platform in order to compete.
Is there a Delegate Handbook?
Yes. The official NOM Delegate Handbook is currently being finalized and will provide complete program and competition information.
