COMPETITION
Three areas. One complete picture.
National Outstanding Miss™ was designed to recognize women for more than a few minutes onstage.
Our competition gives judges three different opportunities to get to know each Delegate: through the way she serves her community, the way she communicates, and the confidence and authenticity she brings to the stage.
The structure is simple and transparent. No required optionals. No hidden categories. Just three areas of competition designed to recognize the whole woman.

TIMELESS
All three divisions compete in the same three areas using the same scoring structure.
HOW YOU’LL COMPETE
Each area gives our judges a different opportunity to see the woman behind the title.
PHILANTHROPY
Service should matter.
At National Outstanding Miss™, it does.
Every Delegate completes a minimum of 24 verified hours of community service. But those 24 hours establish eligibility—they do not determine who earns the highest score.
Judges consider commitment and consistency, personal involvement, community impact, understanding and authenticity, and initiative, leadership and service mindset.
There is no required cause. Delegates do not need to create a nonprofit, establish a formal platform, or have access to extraordinary resources. We want to know how you chose to serve, how you showed up, and what your involvement meant to the people and communities you served.
NOM evaluates service, not privilege.
INTERVIEW
We ask about you.
Interview at National Outstanding Miss™ isn’t about finding the contestant with the most polished pageant answer. It’s an opportunity for our judges to get to know the woman sitting across from them.
We want to know how you think. What matters to you. What you’ve learned. What makes you laugh. What you’re proud of. And what you want us to know about you.
Our judges are selected for their experience, expertise, and ability to treat every Delegate with respect. The goal isn’t to trip you up. It’s to have a conversation.
After all, we’re selecting women we’ll spend a year serving alongside, traveling with, and trusting to represent National Outstanding Miss™.
CATWALK
You are the moment.
Catwalk isn’t evening gown.
Think red carpet meets runway: an opportunity to show your confidence, poise, authenticity, presence, and personal style.
Your wardrobe should complement you, not become the performance. Judges aren’t looking for the biggest skirt, the most elaborate presentation, or the most expensive garment in the room.
They’re looking at how you carry yourself.
THREE AREAS. THAT’S IT.
National Outstanding Miss™ does not require optional competitions to build your overall score.
Your competition score comes from three places:
INTERVIEW — 30%
CATWALK — 30%
100% of your competition score. No mystery math.
Each area shows our judges something different. Together, they give us a much better picture of the woman behind the title.
We don’t stand still. We stand out.™
